Performance Day at Croft Castle
Croft Castle, Yarpole, nr Leominster, Herefordshire HR6 9PW
Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May 2010 11am – 4pm
Shrewd, subtle and not without humour, live Performance Art is a rare treat. Meadow Arts has invited nine artists to give a series of performances throughout the day in various locations at Croft Castle (National Trust). This is also an occasion to see the exciting contemporary art exhibition Tell it to the Trees which runs until September 2010
All performances, locations and times are weather permitting
Juneau Projects will be performing a set of their recent songs using custom-made electronic instruments that draw upon pastoral and digital folklore.
Holly Davey will lead several fictional guided tours poised between fact and fiction that explore broken dreams and forgotten lives at Croft Castle
Mark Richards will be entirely dependent upon others for his survival while he lives for 3 days in the Croft woodlands (see www.enduranceart.co.uk)
Alex Metcalf invites us to discover what is happening inside a tree by listening through headphones to the voice of a tree
Curated by Anne de Charmant and Lee Hassall
The Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Hunt is supporting the Tell it to the Trees event where artists such as Alex Metcalf are helping celebrate the ancient trees at Croft Castle in unusual and beautiful ways. Show us your support by visiting www.ancientreehunt.org.uk and either register or simply record a visit to one or more of the fantastic trees at Croft Castle.
